New Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre website launched

The Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) has reached another milestone with the release of its website and new ticketing service.

The website (www.mackayecc.com.au) has a range of information for prospective convention centre clients as well as details on upcoming events and performances.

Mackay Regional Council Mayor Col Meng said the website was simple to navigate, stylish to peruse and conveyed a sophisticated contemporary business.

“Clients can now download everything they need at the click of a button,” Cr Meng said.

The website provides information on various layout options, menus, booking forms and fees and charges.

The MECC’s ticketing agency - Mackay Tix - has been launched in response to the phenomenal growth of online and external ticket sales, which means tickets can now be bought online.

Cr Meng said the MECC, a business unit of Mackay Regional Council, acted as a ticketing agency for venues in Airlie Beach, sporting grounds and to visiting attractions such as the Moscow Circus.

“The centre is fast becoming the central hub for entertainment, meetings and events,” he said.

The MECC website offers another communication tool by providing a snapshot of the facility through marketing campaigns and online promotion.  Additionally, it allows the centre to compete on a national and international level.

The $29 million MECC complex was funded by a Queensland Government grant with the website design created locally by Out of the Blue Marketing.
