Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Dame Nellie Melba we bring you the widely acclaimed one woman show of soprano Louise Page. Nellie Melba: Queen of Song is an original classical music/ theatre piece. Page’s singing excellence will astound and delight as she is accompanied on piano by Philippa Candy, presenting an empathetic and credible presentation of our Dame Nellie Melba. The show follows Melba’s early life in Australia and the Pioneer Valley, her decision to become an opera singer in Europe and the influence of her teacher Marchesi. It follows her debut in Brussels and success in Paris leading to her triumph at Covent Garden where she reigned for 3 decades as the “Queen of Song”, finally to return home to Australia.
