Songs For Sarina

12pm - 5pm : Sunday 17 July 2011 : Grasstree Beach Esplanade

Free Entry

Thanks to the generosity of Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, Songs for Sarina has grown to be the Festival of Arts biggest multicultural event. This year headlined by the Salaka Ensemble from West Africa and Skorba a Maltese Mediterranean influenced combo who have headlined many world music events in Australia.  The Salaka Ensemble will be conducting free drumming workshops.

The Fijian community choir, South Sea Island Dancers and local Irish group MNA will also be performing.

Roundabout Theatre will be bringing their roving acts The Flying Machine and Lolka to make this a very special day.  There will be market stalls and food and drink vendors to add to the occasion.

A family friendly affair Songs for Sarina will start in the early afternoon and finish as twilight approaches at 5.00 pm. This FREE concert takes place at Grasstree Beach, one of our region’s best kept secrets.

Bring the kids, a blanket, a picnic and your dancing shoes, or bare feet to this great afternoon of community celebration and world music.
