Celebrated Lighting Designer and Event Producer Roger Foley, known for his extravagant psychodelic shows in Australia in the 60’s and 70’s and the still talked about one million dollar budget for the launch of the Mirage Port Douglas in the 80’s is still knocking them dead with his extraordinary lightshows in Sydney, India and now Mackay.  Roger is teaming up with the local Mackay Art by Night collective and Bobcat Ballet Director Angela Chaplin to create Mackay’s largest light show and community lantern parade at the Showgrounds.

Thanks to the generous support of Peabody Energy, the centre piece will be a hot air balloon which will be the main screen for most of the light action.  But the pavilions themselves will be lit with mischief and delight with each one filled with cabaret acts the like of which the Showground has not seen before.

To add to the nights spectacle, Bluescope Lysaght are again sponsoring the Bobcat BalletAngela Chaplin returns to direct this show stopping show of grace and power as bobcats, skidsteer loaders and excavators gyrate, pirouette and dance.

A great night of family festival entertainment not to be missed. Great food and drinks available on site. Entry through Milton Street Entrance Mackay.
