Mackay has four domestic airlines serving our award winning airport at affordable rates. Mackay is connected by air directly with Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Gladstone.
Queensland Railways' Tilt Train and Sunlander services stop at Mackay daily from Brisbane and Cairns via coastal cities.
Located on the Bruce Highway, access via road to Mackay is easy. Inland access is provided from Emerald in the Central Queensland Highlands through to Clermont and the Peak Downs Highway. Express coach services of Greyhound, McCafferty and Premier operate along the coastal highway.
The Mackay Marina and the commercial Port of Mackay provide excellent facilities for cruising yachts, fishing vessels and deep-sea cruise and cargo ships. A number of recreational charter vessels are based in Mackay.
